Across our history, SAGE has:

  • Granted scholarships since 2009.

  • Supported 21 scholars through the completion of their degrees in majors ranging from medicine to law to education.

  • Provided housing or transportation stipends to scholars who had to relocate to attend the university.

  • Established the first post-secondary scholarship available for the University of Guyana.

  • Awarded 26 full scholarships to attend university.

  • Established partnerships with the University, a local Guyanese business, and Guyanese-American groups in the US.

  • A New Scholar and a New Memorial Scholarship! (Spring 2022)- We have eleven scholars currently studying at UG, including Canisha Primo. We are also excited to share that a new memorial scholarship was established in 2021.

  • Our 2021 Scholars! (Fall/Winter 2021)- Our three new SAGE Scholars joined eight others at UG bringing our current total of enrolled scholarship recipients to eleven!

  • Looking Back at the First Semester (Spring 2021)- We continue to be impressed by our scholars' drive and resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Our 2020 Scholars! (Winter 2020)- The 2020-2021 academic year has gotten off to a strong start with two new SAGE Scholars beginning their studies at the University of Guyana.
